Nathan is the youngest of six brothers and sisters, and later in life, his parents revealed he was an accident. But they were quick to assert he was a happy accident, because even though he was immature, nerdy, and often crude, he was never boring.

Growing up in Northern California, his days were either spent in his room exploring the worlds of Eddings, Jordan, and McCaffery, or out in the woods and by the lake avoiding rattlesnakes and contracting poison oak.

​

When he turned nineteen, he decided he'd had enough of California and spent the next two years in Nicaragua. There he lost a ton of weight, endured cold showers, and tracted through Hurricane Mitch.

After returning to the States, he moved to Utah and put aside his nerdier tendencies long enough to fool his dream girl into marrying him. She has since put him through years of school and has given him four charming, brilliant, beautiful daughters. (They take after her. Obviously.)

​

Nathan had never even considered writing his own book until a throw-away line in someone else's story sparked an idea he couldn't let go. (Thus was born the Iterations of Jonathan Golightly.) So even though he studied Biochemistry and Accounting in college and had a good job, he decided it was time to spread his little nerd wings and fly.
